Bomb Threat Email Triggers Massive Security Sweep at Mumbai International Airport, Declared Hoax After Investigation

According to Sahar Police Station officials, the email was received by the airport administration on Saturday from an unidentified individual. The message contained a direct threat to bomb the entire airport, leading security agencies to activate emergency protocols without delay.

Following the threat, police personnel and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDS) launched a comprehensive search operation throughout the airport complex and surrounding areas. Security teams conducted thorough inspections to ensure passenger safety and rule out any potential risk.

Officials stated on Sunday that the intensive investigation and search operation did not uncover any suspicious object or evidence of a security threat. After completing the inspection, authorities concluded that the bomb threat was entirely false and classified it as a hoax.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and have initiated efforts to identify and trace the unknown individual responsible for sending the threatening email. The investigation remains underway as authorities work to determine the source of the message and the motive behind it.
